Tim Ahern
Tim attended Penn State where he studied microbiology and food science. He has earned numerous certifications in HACCP, Food Microbiology and Food Safety over his 30-year career in the industry. He has achieved the highest level of Food Safety Certification offered by Penn State and has been recognized as an Expert in Food Safety by the State Courts of Pennsylvania. He has assisted in formulating Answers products for more than 4 years by conducting risk analysis ensuring the safety and consistency of our pet food.
Dr. Greg Siragusa
Dr. Greg Siragusa earned his PhD from the University of Arkansas. His phenomenal career spans from his early work with the USDA as a research microbiologist to his positions as Chief Science Officer, CEO and Founder of Scout Microbiology LLC. He is a world renown leader in the study of microbiology and its application to food science and safety. He brings his education and skills to Answers as he leads our team of scientists. Dr. Siragusa has been working with Answers for several years and is ready to lead us into the future, with our innovative, amazing, and high-quality products.
Grant Shawver
Grant is certified in Microbiology, FSPCA (Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance) and has his advanced HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) Certification. He has served under Tim Ahern for the last two years to ensure that our products are safe and of the highest quality.
Joe Flock
Joe Flock earned his B.S. in Food Science from Penn State University, and currently is a Principal Food Scientist at Answers. Over Joe’s 35-year career, he has assisted the FDA and USDA in developing formulas and has commercialized over 100 consumable products. Joe uses his AAFCO regulation experience to improve Answers labeling, packaging, and nutritional information. Joe also assists Tim and Grant with quality control and he is excited to lend his expertise in unique ingredients and processes to new products coming your way.
Alyssa Wentz
Alyssa earned her B.S. in Animal Science and Agricultural Business from Penn State University and is continuing her education in animal nutrition. Her 9 years in multiple areas within the food industry is invaluable. She works with veterinarians, nutritionists, and other pet food industry leaders to ensure quality and nutrition in every Answers product. Alyssa is the Assistant Vice President of Business Development and we are excited to have someone of Alyssa’s caliber expand our business.
